Can you put a litter box back there? If not, can you cover the spot with a piece of furniture? He's going to keep going there as long as it's available and bears his "mark", but I'd be curious to know why he started going there in the first place. Solve the underlying issue first, then cut off his private potty or he'll just go find a new one.
