Heaven forbid - you are the only one!!!! My waste basket is on the floor to my left. I cut the thread and toss it to the general direction. I know that later I will come back and crawl on the floor and pick up most of the threads or pieces of quilt fabric. I cook the same way. Not that I throw the leftovers in the general direction of the waste basket but I do the job (counter looks like I made sandwiches of a wrecking crew instead of just the two of us) and then I clean up after. I learned to pick up the thread rather soon after a time of sewing cause my cat got a piece of longer thread and I found her choking with the thread sticking out of her mouth I pulled about 2 feet out of her that I am sure had already found it's way into her stomach. But yes, I don't want to be interupeted by being neat.
