quilter j, i also bought this one for $35.00 but no lift or mechanisms on it and neither of my machines fit so a guy friend just made me a piece of wood to fit the hole and i just leave it up all the time with my 1970 model kenmore on it, i just throw a cloth over the machine to keep dust off.
but i do hope you can get yours fixed like you want it to be, i think you got a good deal anyhow.
