I make my quilts to be used. That's means washing.
I wash with Orvus paste in the washer on a gentle cycle and tumble dry in the dryer.
The only quilt I have had fall apart was the first one I made for my son. It didn't get washed, and he was using it all the time. It literally rotted and fell apart.
