I have a Pfaff 7170 (I always get the models mixed up) but it sets the tension electronically), and I don't screw with it! If I am stitcing in the ditch I do about 2.5. I had a much older Pfaff (2122E) that I had to do manually, so depends on how new--and computerized your machine is? The IDT is a lifesaver!
