If you are serious about Florida, check out Ocala. We live in a 55+ community called "On Top of the World." You can find it on the Internet and can get a 3-day visitation there at a very reasonable cost. Ocala is a beautiful city of about 60,000. In the center of horse country (Marion County alone has over 35,000 horses) so you are surrounded by beautiful horse farms. Easy access to interstate, good stores, medical services, etc. We have been here almost 8 years and love it. Plus, houses are super cheap right now.
