Okay.... A while ago I ordered an applique pattern... It arrived and excitedly I opened it. All that came in the package was a little story about the block (that didn't say a word about how to make it) and a hand drawn picture of the block. Seriously that's all there was. No measurements or anything, just this "line drawing"

Now I said line drawing, but there are no lines persay, only curves! Is this a normal way to send a pattern? Cripes, I've done applique, the turned interfacing way mind you, but nothing that looks like part of it should be pieced first. There are no measurements, no seam allowances, and no cut lines. No how to, nothing. Just this little drawing.

Now call me a fool, but I can sit down and draw a picture. I can even freehand a close resemblence to the pattern I picked, that doesn't mean I know how to create it in fabric.

So what did I do? I took the silly thing and stuck it up and away, I didn't even give it much more thought until I saw the flying geese pattern question earlier today, and it started to make me a bit mad again.

Seriously, I thought patterns were supposed to help you make it?!?!
