I have always made "donation" quilts, unless someone, (DD), asks me to make something special for them.
Our quilt guild adopted a group of residents from a nursing home this Christmas, and gave quilts and other things. At the end of the morning, one resident asked if I had another stocking and socks, for her roommate, because she was unable to get to the party room. She said she would give her the quilt she had received. She said she, herself wouldn't use the quilt, because she wasn't OLD enough! (She was only 84)!
I laughed and said that would be just fine!
It's a good thing not everyone likes or wants a quilt, or we would be stitching our fingers off!
