You are correct, and your manual was wrong. I thread mine from right to left and needle has flat side pointing left. First links shows how to load bobbin. Have fun treadling!
Wow! Thanks! I can't believe my manual is wrong. It's the original book that came with the machine. Maybe this is why she appears to never have been used much?
