This is an Italian thing. Before midnight, we put out coins on the doorstep. Normally they are placed under the welcome mat. After midnight, they are retrieved. It is a tradition that ensures financial well-being in the new year. I use a 1964 half-dollar that I have had for years. I carry it in my pocket everyday. It been working for me so far.

Oh yeah, I also dress my avatar up as baby new year too. It's the first year for me to to this one.
