I just lost my sweet MIL, who was closer to me than my own mom.. I have all the things back that I made for her, including quilts. I have one on an upstairs guest bed, the others are put away. I also have hundreds of hand crocheted lace things... and many many counted cross stitch and needlepoint things. I can't put them in a land fill.. Can't give them to goodwill... I just can't do that.. so I will put them away and as time goes on I plan on giving her things to others who will love them and use them.. I think it is a way to honor her and her beautiful work. Right now, I'm not doing much with them because it's too painful, but I think the sharpness of that will fade, and then I'll be able to do what I've determined to do.
