We usually stay home. But this year our church has been invited to join another neighborhood church for a new year's eve service. They don't have communion in their church and their pastor has asked our pastor to have hold a late night communion service, ending at midnight. (He also wants him to 'wear his robes and everything'.)

Hubby and I think it will be a good way to spend new years ... meeting new folks in the neighborhood and sharing the common bond of being followers of Christ. We are ethnically very different folk and I think it will be so much fun to have an opportunity to spend time with each other.

Will have to go home close to midnight, though. Poor doggies don't like all the fire crackers and bottle rockets that go off. I usually spend the new year holding two trembling dogs while hubby sleeps!

Blessings to all for a wonderful new year.

PS - Needle biopsy of the thyroid today was not as painful as I was afraid it would be. The Dr. who performed the procedure was a riot! He really put me at ease. He hit the mark on the first try! He's my hero -- LOL!

They said I would be sore for a couple of days. Only really notice it when I swallow or turn my head too quickly.
