my dad passed away almost a year ago (jan 7). One of my most treasured possessions is the quilt I made for him. My kids and hubby fight over who gets to use it when we are all on the couch, it just helps me remember him and does help ease my sorrow.
My deepest sympathy for your loss. what ever you do decide to do, it will be the right thing. I am glad to have the one I made for my dad back as some day t will go to my kids - and then maybe their kids
