Most of the house blocks that I have found on the internet are any where from 8 to 10''. So by adding to it, I mean to make the finished block measure 12 1/2" when it is completed. Some people will enlarge their patterns to that size & some will use a coordinating fabric to match the block itself. I hope this answer's your question.
