YEAAAAH!

Finally a forum of like-minded, badass, take-no-prisoners quilters with a vengeance. I like quilting so much that the callouses on my fingers are like rock. I've made a crap-load of quilts, many with marpat, flecktarn, and tiger stripe camo as those are my favorites. At the moment, I'm working on a tactical-style patchwork quilt. It's basically different squares of heavy-duty black fabrics stitched with black dental floss. I've made the scraps different sizes to make a random pattern, not unlike conventional camouflage, to break up the human form when covered in the quilt. I'm using dental floss because it has an enormous tensile-strength compared to conventional thread. It took me a while to find black dental floss, obviously white or green isn't too 'tactical', but I did find a source if anyone is interested. I'd like to find some fire retardant to spray it down with and I thought it would be neat to get a hold of some kevlar fabric for the back. I figure nothing is more badass than a bulletproof, fireproof, quilt that offers instant camouflage when thrown over the body. Lastly, I've made a sling out of 2'' military-grade nylon webbing with 2 steel buckles This allows one to carry the rolled up quilt bandoleer-style and the quilt can be deployed in seconds.
Anyway, it's great to be here! I'd love to see any of your own military or tactical style quilts. I'm always looking for inspiration.
