I use PRESENCIA thread, made in Spain and sold online from Harriet's Treadle Arts - a store owned by the master heirloom machine quilter, Harriet Hargrave, in Denver, Colorado.
This thread is manufactured with precision and no lint. It is from a family owned company which has been in business for the past 78 years, and is only recently selling their product in the United States. They are widely recognized in Europe, and especially in the garment manufacturing industry. They have a 60 weight 3 ply thread -- very strong -- for holding quilts together. If you use anything less, the threads will eventually not hold the weight of a pieced and quilted quilt. The other brands mentioned are no longer manufactured in Germany, but Greece, and the quality of the threads is not what it used to be. Google Harriet Hargrave to find the store.
