My hard wood floors are 100 yrs old... I have been told, never use water on wood, it soaks in the cracks ( all the spaces between either are dry where the water could leak between or humidity the makes them swell)Murhey's calls for water, so that is out for me.
I have used window cleaner...
Now I use a cleaner from the flooring man in our area. It comes with a reuseable pad.
So I would go for asking a professional in the area.

My tile floors I use the Bissel Vac and Steam, Love it.
