Sue, isn't the old Singer the BEST to take to a class?! On the first night of class, before I opened up my case, I had two ladies come over and ask me, "What is THAT?!" Then I opened it up and a younger lady asked the same question: "What is THAT?" :^) Several of the older ladies laughed, as did I. As someone who had an old 8-track player in her 1971 Pinto, I am not shocked by the older forms of technology. My Grandmother was a seamstress and she had a treadle-Singer! But some ladies had literally never seen the old beautifully basic Singer before, so the question was not a total shock to me.
You know, there just might be a way to cover that old feed dog! Thanks for the idea. I shall ask the question the next time I visit the Board. For now, though, I have to say "good night!" I have been on my laptop for a very long time, and I still have laundry to do.
