Try this, attaching a pic, similar to sticks and stones just skip a stick, to make it on the bias, I cut the squares corner to corner, to make it on the bias, this can also be done not on the bias. What ever size square your choice, probibly 6-7 inch square, whatever is best divisable by the with of the fabric so less waste.
