Always bring fabric and thread to sew on the machine before leaving the shop. Better to let the repairman or staff sew with it or have them right there watching you sew. It's not uncommon for the shop to say it was working great when it left the shop. Never be in a rush to take the machine and leave, better to wait until you have time to test it out.
