I couldn't for the life of me figure out how anyone could treadle and sew a straight line -- I couldn't -- much less hand crank and sew a straight line with one hand! But, low and behold, I learned how and I love doing thread play and FMQing with my treadles! You just have to practice practice and practice some more -- it is really a lot of fun!

Working with a treadle ... I understand that 'cause my grandmother let me practice (two-handed) years ago on her machine. But I just tried sewing one-handed (slowly) on the electric and had to stop every inch or so to get back on course! I'm too old to cope with a very steep learning curve!
