when my son moved out a few months ago, I quickly took over his bedroom for my sewing room. I have that set up strictly as a "sewing area" - where I work on the actual project. But, we also had another bedroom not being used so I set that one up with my fabric and cutting area. I was able to keep a twin bed in there for when my son comes home for a visit. But, I, too, have noticed I'm slowly overtaking the dining area (no table in there so it's empty too). I think we just tend to take over as our projects expand. :-)
I like the idea of a strictly cutting and fabric area. That helps - except that I still need to cut while I am sewing - so I would be going back and forth a lot. I would love a room that could fit a very long sturdy table for cutting.
