There are different ways to do a RR. The number in the group is determined by the number of borders or rows or size of quilt. Ours on this board are done through mail. My local quilt shop has a group where they meet at the shop and exchange their boxes. The idea is that you don't see it while it is "gone" and it is revealed to you at the end.
One way is to make a center and group members add borders around it. Each round can be assigned a size. That is how the International RR is this time.

Each person in the group adds a row rather than a border.
