Same here. If it's a small seam, I don't pin. If it's a seam with a lot of intersections, then I will put pins at the intersections. Totally depends on the specific situation. One thing I
never do is to sew over a pin. I will always stop my machine and take the pin out rather than risk breaking a needle or pin or doing damage to my machine.
