In addition to cleaning all the lint out, I am remembering a similar post. I think they said their machine was stitching a little sideways. Someone suggested a decorative stitch (or zigzag stitch) might be selected rather than the straight stitch.
Can you show us a photo of the machine? Do you have the manual. Name and model number? Many manuals are online for free.
