I am re-thinking this project. Perhaps, I could us Mary Ellen Hopkins techniques for chain sewing this 1.5 inch strips and use a little wider strip for the final row prior to squaring this off. Then, I could still sash the logs and add the triangle at the corners.

Light-weight cotton or cotton muslin might be another substitution if I think of this as a foundation pieced string-type quilt block.

I am trying to be resourceful and use what I already have on hand in my stash. Better days are coming, but meanwhile, I have to conserve my resources.

I prefer to use the term of being "resourceful" as my parents graduated from high school during the Great Depression in 1933. Currently, two family members are looking for employment in this economy....
