It's a beautiful quilt and well worth preserving. Not sure how though. Do you have a group in the states dedicated to old quilts and how to conserve them like we do in the UK? It's part of the Quilters Guild of the British Isles (I think that's the name, I'm not a member) anyway they would give you advice surely.
