Ditter, Thanks so much for this. I'm the advisor for both of our Honor Society chapters and we present the Veteran's Day Chapel at our school every November. This is going to definitely be a part of our chapel November, 2011. We do all we can to help our students develop and maintain a respect for our country, our government, and our military. We don't lead them to believe our country is always right or anything or that you shouldn't disagree with decisions that are made. However supporting the members of our military and their families has nothing to do with if you agree with a military action decided on in Washington. My brother was an Air Force air traffic controller in Tokoyo during Vietnam and often landed the Angel Flights. He talked about it once and I asked him if he ever knew how many they were escorting home. He shook his head and said "they were full, the plane was always at capacity" then he had to go walk outside. My heart breaks when I think how my brother and all of our military were treated when they came home during that time. I can't dwell on it, those memories still make me physically sick...
