You are not being unreasonable at all and I would complain loudly. Supply problems do crop up, but they should have been up front with you and advised you so you could make a selection. With what fabric costs, plus the fact that kits invariably cost more than the sum of the parts, you should be allowed a deep discount. Just my opinion, of course, but that is just not right.
