I'm working on a D9P now. Using 10" squares. Choose one dark and one medium 10" square plus one light 5" square to make one block. Cut the 10" pieces into 5" squares. When laying out the block, I put the light color in the center and the dark on the corners - then sew together. That's just one way to do it. Even though no two blocks are the same fabric, it gives a hint of a pattern rather than total scrappy. Have fun!
