I was taught to do all the vertical lines together then the horizontal. Not to try to turn the quilt around as you go. That causes puckers for sure. That way you can start on one side and go to the other and top to bottom with just the lines. But if you don't want the lines to intersect with the seams you can place blue painters tape or iron on a square of freezer paper in the middle of the square and just free motion around it with that clear foot. That is what I would do.
