My husband and I watched as Toowoomba was flooded and I cried, we were both born there and it was to watch the furniture store where we bought our first bed being destroyed, or the hotel across the road where I worked before I was married with so much devastation. So many memories for us, We have friends who lived at Murphys Creek and haven't been able to contact them.

We are in Brisbane but high and dry. The devastation has been dreadful. It must have been terrifying for those people in the wake of the tsunami. I hope your friends are all right, Murphys Creek was in the thick of it. I have a nephew and family in Toowoomba and am waiting to hear they are OK. He is manager of Harvey Norman and I don't know if they were in the CBD?
