Here in Virginia they have Roses, Big Lots, Olies and several other stores that sell stuff cheaper then normal. Any off them will have the cheap ($5 - $8) 100% polyester blankets that I use as the batting. These blankets are plain, no frill blankets. They don't even have an edging on them other then a simple sewed edge. They serve the purpose well of keeping you warm but they are not the best to look at. They are not much thicker then the batting so you can sew through them on a sewing machine but for this project I'm not doing that because it takes to long. Since these are blankets that are made not to separate, they do not pull apart inside the quilts. This makes them a prefect batting when you can't afford the normal batting. Personally I prefer them to the normal batting even if I could afford it.
