Like many others, I have been lurking for the last couple of months, and finally taken the plunge to register. I have been quilting for the last year only. My first quilt was a double wedding band that I made for my DDs wedding. Whenever I went for fabrics, I was asked what I was making. When I told them, every resonse was " That's an ambious quilt" I knew that I was either crazy, or just to dumb to know better. But my life has always been that way. 25 years ago, my husband and I had triplets, 2 boys and a girl, and life has never been typical. When they were 4, I found out I had MS (multiple sclerosis) and became a stay at home mom. This afforded me the opportunity to raise my children, with plenty of time to volunteer, and be a big part of their lives. Even though life can be hard (I have been in a wheelchair for the last 10 yrs., I have not regretted a single day. Now that the kids are grown, and gone, I can focus on my dear husband, my precious eski-poo isabelle, and my hobbies. I love to quilt, crotchet, read, camp, and kayak. I get a wonderful feeling of being "normal" when I'm out on the water. and izzy enjoys it too. So, to all here, I am glad to have found this sight as being self taught, I have already have learned a lot, and tell my family you are my quilting friends!
