I started this quilt in March of 2010. Finally got it quilted in October and right after Thanksgiving I binded the edge. I also did a super sized pillow sham. It took 5 queen pillows to fill the sham. Quilt measures 120 x 120. If it had been a half inch bigger it could not have been put on the machine. This is my hubby's. From the first day I showed him the photo in an old quilt magazine he has pushed me to get it done. It is by far the most difficult thing I have ever done. The sham is all silk ties (they were a bear) and it is a mixture on the quilt. It is pretty if I do say so myself. All the ties come from either yard sales, Goodwill or the Salvation Army. Thanks to my oldest daughter and also a young clerk at Joanns who got me started with the first batch of ties. Hubby is a retired surveyor so the geometric quilt designs were perfect.
