I like the vintage look of no borders on things like Civil War, Underground Railrod, etc. But I've seen ones with borders that are just as pretty. It just depends on the quilt. If you listen to your quilt, it will tell you if you should use borders or not. The two of you discuss it, try out the different looks and see what works.
