I've bought a couple of quilt kits. One had more than enough fabric and one not quite enough. The one that was a little short on fabric was a homespun rag quilt. I just bought a few more quarter yard cuts of different homespuns and it was okay. I've not bought one online, both of those were from quilt shops. I don't know if that would make a difference in how they are put together. I really liked them. I can't really remember, but the homespun may have been short because I decided to make the quilt a little bigger than the size the kit called for.
