Maria gave an excellent diagram and I agree with her to give it the symmetry you're looking for. It doesn't look like you've sewn anything, so you have time to change it around. See how she has the orange and purple one alternate star points so that it goes, orange, purple, orange, purple, etc?

Your colors are fantastic and it's going to be beautiful no matter which way you finish it. Very nice. :-)

In the first picture, the 3" squares are the same color as the 2" squares and if you're looking for symmetry, that's the one you should go with. Again, it's going to be a beautiful quilt no matter how you do it. :D
