So I'm digging out all these quilts and am just amazed. Some are simple - tied - and VERY heavy. I don't think you'd be able to turn over in bed under one of them. Those Oklahoma winters in a farm house probably needed such things. Then found the quilts my grandmother made for my son - 31 years ago - from good old double knit. The crib size is hand quilted on the border and tied in the center. Then the twin bed size of the same material and design is machine quilted on the border. I would have SWORN that this dear grandmother had never machine quilted anything! Live and learn!
