It frays a lot. I used dupioni which is fairly slick. Bias wasn't a problem, but next time I will cut a wider seam allowance on the straight grains. It frayed as fast as I could sew it. The problem with silk is that you can't use steam or a hot iron and must iron from the back. Fusible doesn't adhere very well without a fair amount of heat. I used fusible on the bias velvet, but it kept coming unfused. It just takes a lot of patience. I also used silk thread and a fine needle. All of the wedding gowns I have made have been silk, love working with it, but it takes patience. You also can't pin because it leaves marks. No mistakes allowed.
