I agree with the assessment on the minkee...it would make the blanket extremely heavy and cumbersome and because it's so slick, it would keep sliding off the bet. I think flannel would be much easier to work with, be very warm and stay on the bed to boot. Make him a lap quilt for the sofa with minkee backing as a secondary gift if that's what he really wants. Also consider the cost of the minkee vs the cost of flannel!!!!!
