Well, I'm certainly done reading this thread. Expecting parents in the US (and some other places) are inundated with info about SIDS by their pediatricians, nurses, and OB's. Since the educational campaign began, SIDS deaths have decreased. I've seen the research myself (not just googling it one afternoon), and it is real. Grandparents don't often get this info, since they're not seeing the same doctors that expecting parents are.

I was only trying to help, not spread fear. I'm only afraid when I'm ignorant, not when I'm well educated about how to avoid proven risks.

If anyone else would like more info, there is tons available on the web, although a pediatrician is likely more reliable and accurate. Feel free to PM me if you would like more info as well.

As OP to this topic I still feel that you did not answer my question. And in my humble opinion you do not educate you operate with fear.
And like all people operating with fear instead of facts you do not have any arguments.
Not one single study relates SIDS with headpumpers and some come up that it MIGHT be related to overwarming of the baby or bad circulation of air inside of the crib due to overstuffing it with whatever items.

I think it is a very noble thing to do anything that saves babies lifes where ever you can. How about educating yourself about the number of babies and infants loosing their lifes due to abuse and neglecting as this is not rare and see where you can bring in your help there.
