Today is the first time I've seen this post....guess its not too late to answer! :)
I would have to say Pam Bono, only because I have one of her books and have made one quilt out of it and there are so many others in the book that are on my "want to make someday" list!
I do alot of designing on my own as well, something pops into my head and I scratch it down on paper...have alot of those pieces of paper laying around too! LOL
