I think charcoal gray would work best but I've decided these fabrics simply don't work with this pattern. I am going to do this quilt in the black (pepper) and solid greens, blues, teal etc.
The yellow is ugly -- I also think if I reveresed it and made the arrows that pattern that might be nicer.

I like it. You could audition a charcoal grey for slightly less contrast, if you are uncomfortable with this.
