I heartily agree with the point about aging being liberating. It was wonderful to realize that people don't really check out my appearance as critically as they do a younger woman's. Who cares if I dress for comfort rather than style and never, ever wear high heels? I loved noticing that my unavoidable scowl lines seem to make some store clerks hop-to and try to be more helpful. It's funny because I'm not really scowling and not in a hurry at all.
