Wondering if someone can explain the difference in the software.
Basically, I'm looking for something that allows me to design quilts and then calculates yardage and cutting directions, such as how many squares of which color, etc.

If I understand correctly, both programs can do that. Am I right about this?
I'm horrible at figuring yardage and estimating how much fabric of each color I'd need when making a quilt. I thought this software might help me with that.

I know EQ5 is the older version, of course, and is much less expensive that EQ6. Which makes it more attractive to me.

What significant features does EQ6 have that I couldn't do with 5?

I know it's a lot to answer. I've tried reading about and comparing the two but I'm still not sure.

I wondered if anyone has used both and can tell me if EQ5 will be sufficient for what I need.

Thanks.
