is this working a little like the fake kaleidoscope? except on the bias and on point? if not, then i can't get it.
it looks like the center on point square is it's own thing. is it made up of four matched pieces? then the small hst meets up with matching hsts to form another pattern at each corner, right ? that would form another square. the trick is to match the pattern exactly, right? so corner #2 matches the stripe pattern (for example) perfectly at corner #2 of the next block. and so on.
