polyester holds up well and is good for (utility) quilts...quilts that will be dragged around, tossed in the wash, tossed in the dryer. the fabric is not as ...soft with time--(like cotton gets)-- it stays like it is, ...ya know...yukky ole poly... you can if you want use it. you know our ancestors quilted what ever scrap of fabric they could get their hands on into their beautiful quilts. good for kids quilts, car quilts, picnic/beach quilts.
