Most LAers charge by the square inch, square foot or square yard, as there can be different interpretations of 'king', 'queen', etc.
To calculate square inches, multiply the length in inches by the width in inches of your quilt top. That gives square inches.
• If they charge by the square foot, divide that number by 144.
OR
• If they charge by the square yard, divide that number by 1296.
While I have a range of prices based on density/difficulty of the pattern, the majority of my overall designs are $0.015 per square inch (one and a half pennies PSI). So a quilt that was 60" x 80" = 4800 square inches x 0.015 = $72.
