I do not think of it as ugly, but a historical copy of days gone by. I would finish it and make it into a blanket rather than a quilt to use over a blanket (if you still think it is ugly.) I would use the solid green you have used in the quilt already and then add a wide dark brown border to frame it. I hope you do not give up on this quilt. I like it.
That is exactly what I was going to say. We had one like this several years ago, only it was made out of wool. Talk about a warm quilt. To me, this is the true quilt. Edie
